1. Find your tunes - whatever it is, from chilled spa vibes to turning it up to 11 with the party vibes, get a good playlist on the go. It always sets the mood and can help you all relax.
2. Pack your bridal clutch bag the night before - running around in your dress, veil and shoes frantically looking for your blister plasters etc never ensures a calm exit to your ceremony. You won’t have to worry about packing much makeup as I will send you off with your makeup top-up kit.
3. Steam your dresses the night before – steaming dresses and/or veils is never a good idea on the day itself. If possible, ensure your dress and your bridesmaids’ dresses are steamed the night before. If anything needs steaming on the day, try and delegate to someone who isn’t having hair and makeup done, as steaming a garment after makeup is like getting in a hot bath after you have just applied your makeup! A hot, humid bride is never our goal.
4. Get all dress labels and shoe stickers taken off the night before - no one ever has scissors on the morning of a wedding, and I have seen countless nail-biting moments while the mother of the bride is attacking labels with her teeth.
5. Pack boob tape - and then pack some more!
6. Make sure each member of your bridal party knows their allocated hair and makeup slot - we see countless bridesmaids and Mum’s going AWOL! Often they just “nip off” to do something helpful but they bump into someone and have a chat, which wasn’t scheduled into their trip! It just results in a stressed bride and a hair and makeup team frantically reworking a military-grade schedule (and we want a chilled morning too). Tell Mum and maids they can have the morning off as long as they are in the hair and makeup chair at the right time. If one of your bridal gang has a tendency of being late, tell them their slot is 20 mins earlier than it is (we will cover for you).
7. Have your fave bottle (or three) of fizz in the fridge ready for those getting ready moments.
