We are born with the skin we will have for our entire lives and it’s important to take care of it as much as possible. But don’t let makeup be the reason to skip our skincare routine.
Be sure to include your skincare regimen in your makeup application because, what the difference it will make.
Great skin is not simply a matter of DNA — your daily habits, in fact, have a big impact on what you see in the mirror. But depending on which product reviews you read or doctors you consult, there is a dizzying number of opinions on everything from how to moisturize to how to protect yourself from UV rays.
Any skincare needs time
The science behind skin-care products has come a long way but there’s still no such thing as an instant fix — you need time to reap the benefits. Results are only seen through consistent use.
Generally, aim to use a product over at least six weeks, once or twice daily, to notice a difference.
Tip: With any skin-care product, apply in order of consistency — from thinnest to thickest. For example, cleanser, toner, serum, and then moisturizer.
Makeup with skincare makes much bigger difference then without:
1. Flawless makeup application
Think of your skin like an art canvas. A canvas that is smooth, clean, and succulent allows paint to brush on a lot easier allowing the pigment to show its true colors. It’s the same exact thing with our skin. When we exfoliate, cleanse, and moisturize we are prepping our skin for the perfect canvas for our makeup.
You’ll notice your makeup will glide on smoother and your makeup will look so much more even and radiant.
2. Makeup will last longer
Makeup will last a lot longer throughout the day when your skin is clean and hydrated. A lot of women question, “Why isn’t my makeup staying longer?” or “Why is my foundation cracking?” The answer to that how well your skincare routine is. If you’re not cleansing properly, dirt and texture build up on the skin allows for makeup product to not stick to your skin as long and if you’re not moisturizing properly your skin may dry up causing your makeup to separate.
On the other hand, if you’re oily, moisturizing is just as important. When oily skin does not get hydration, the body tells your skin to produce even more oil therefore causing your skin to feel even more oily and not giving your skin a base to adhere to.
3. You’ll use less product overtime
When you get a consistent skincare routine going, your skin will definitely show it. You’ll see your skin issues slowly start to diminish to where you don’t have to use as much makeup as before. Look at skincare like an investment. When you invest your time and money to your health, you will certainly save yourself a few dollars and years of facial aging in the future.
Let your skincare work its magic and it’ll return the favor for you down the line.
4. Feel more confident
When you see your makeup applying beautifully, staying on throughout the day, and notice you’re using the bare minimum of product, you’ll definitely feel a lot more confident in your own skin. That’s your skin! When you take care of it, it takes care of you physically and mentally.
Whether you’re rocking a glam look or nothing at all, you’ll be glowing from the inside out all because of the patience and love you’ve invested in your skin.
